Carolina Hurricanes storm tour
The Carolina Hurricanes Storm Tour project consisted of a complete refresh of an existing mobile fan experience truck. This project involved consistent meetings with Community Events Manager Brian Turney, to create an engaging NHL experience for the community in a non-traditional market.
This grassroots initiative led to over 4,000 new contacts for the Carolina Hurricanes from March 2022 to November 2023 through a logo and truck wrap redesign.
the truck design
The truck design required a wrap for the exterior featuring some of the biggest names on the Hurricanes roster. This wrap design needed to strongly align with the Hurricanes brand, as it would not only be seen at events, but driving throughout the state from location to location as well. The designs were formatted based on a template and print-ready files were sent to the wrap vendor.
This truck would be the first touch point for many prospective Hurricanes fans who haven't previously engaged with the team. The designs needed to generate energy and excitement for the sport of hockey and the Canes organization.
player arrival wall redesigns
A large part of the Hurricanes culture is individual player connection with fans and expressing the athlete's personality through media pieces. Trends emerged showing high engagement on photos of players arriving to the rink. The Canes organization decided to add more visual interest into these photos with graphics on each side of the tunnel to cover the existing cinder blocks, in hopes to generate even more buzz from fans on social media.
